Rossmoor Pet Hospital is a family-owned veterinary practice located at 1910 Tice Valley Blvd in Walnut Creek, California. Providing wellness care, dental care, surgery, urgent care, diagnostics, and end-of-life support. We are looking for an experienced Practice Manager to oversee the administrative and operational functions of our hospital. This position is ideal for a confident leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, improving operational efficiency, and partnering with veterinarians to ensure both exceptional patient care and an outstanding client experience.
About the Role
As Practice Manager, you will provide leadership for the hospital's business operations while creating an environment where employees feel supported, clients feel valued, and the medical team has the resources needed to provide excellent care. Working alongside the Medical Director, you will help guide the hospital's strategic direction, manage day-to-day operations, and promote continued growth.
What You'll Do:
Lead Hospital Operations:
- Direct the daily administrative and operational activities of the practice.
- Develop efficient workflows that support quality patient care and exceptional client service.
- Monitor hospital performance using key financial and operational metrics.
- Manage inventory, equipment, facility needs, and vendor relationships.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining high standards of care.
Build and Support a Great Team:
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain talented team members.
- Foster a culture built on communication, accountability, collaboration, and mutual respect.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations that encourage professional growth.
- Create employee schedules that balance patient needs with team well-being.
- Promote a positive work environment where staff members feel empowered and appreciated.
Drive Practice Success:
- Partner with the Medical Director to establish and achieve hospital goals.
- Assist with budgeting, expense management, and revenue growth initiatives.
- Analyze business trends and recommend improvements that strengthen hospital performance.
- Support marketing and community outreach efforts that increase client engagement and hospital visibility.
Deliver an Outstanding Client Experience:
- Ensure every client receives friendly, responsive, and compassionate service.
- Resolve concerns professionally while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Encourage clear communication between clients and the veterinary team.
- Help create a welcoming atmosphere where pets and their families feel comfortable and cared for.
What We're Looking For:
Successful candidates will bring:
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory, management, or leadership experience preferred. Ideally in veterinary medicine, healthcare, or another client-focused service industry.
- A proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and build a positive workplace culture.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and business operations.
- Confidence in making decisions while balancing the needs of clients, staff, and the hospital.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business management or healthcare administration is a plus.
- Veterinary practice management experience is highly desirable.

Salary Range: $68,640–$75,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
